Period: Historic
Relative Chronology: Early 8th - 11th Century CE
Description: This site is located in Marzakai tulaka about 75 km away towards north of Quetta city close to Quetta-Chaman Road near the Railway track, district Qilla Abdullah. The mound is almost circular in shape with flat top. It measures 42.6 m in diameter with a height of 6 m. It is bounded on three sides by open plain, whereas, at north-eastern side the offshoots of Khawaja Amrain range of mountains are located. Excavations here were conducted by Captain Lock in 1881. During excavations fragments of pottery glasses, iron and brass were recovered. The digging operations also revealed that the main item of architecture was mud bricks measuring 46 x 25.4 cm. The evidence of other material and occasionally brick bates and wood were also recorded, where big lumps of charred wood were encountered which gave the indication that the settlement was destroyed owing to foreign invasion where the mound was set on fire. The site is tentatively dated from 1st century BCE to 15th century CE containing major episodes of Islamic period.
