Sar-i Damb/East site

Type: Archaeological Site - Settlement
Province: Balochistan
District: Turbat
Period: Pre Historic
Relative Chronology: 8000 BCE - 5600 BCE
Description: The mound is situated on the left bank of the Kil river, south-west of Hoshab village. Its size is 80x 100 m with surviving height between 4-5 m. The site maybe Stein`s Ghalaihak, but it is difficult to establish in the field if it corresponds with Stein`s site. The pottery, generally so plentiful on the site of the Kech valley, was absent from the surface of this mound which has numerous remains of ancient dry-stone. Numerous microliths were collected. For dating the site more investigation is needed, particularly concerning the flint industry.
