Kuragi Damb

Description: The mound measuring 190 x 180 m with maximum surviving height of 10 is littered with potshards. It is located on west of Kuragi village approximately 2 km in Besma Tehsil and surrounded by agricultural fields. Most shards from the site are medium textured and fine material of light red ware and buff ware. Dark red slip has been applied on buff and red background. The geometrical designs are noticed on most shards. Chocolate colour slip has been applied on light red ware. The main collection of pottery has striking resemblance with the shards from Nausharo in district Kachi. The site can be dated to 2800 - 2500 BCE.
