Description: Yogo Rock Carvings are located immediately above the village of Yogo on Skardu-Khaplu road. The place where the rock carvings and inscriptions found is called Albok. Here several boulders with petroglyphs and Brahmi/proto-sharada inscriptions. More than 30 carvings showing stupas in Tibetan style, ibexes and inscriptions. Prof. Jettmar says that there is a considerable number of carvings, rendering stupas of a very particular type and combined with inscriptions. They remember of the so-called terraced stupas, which in turn are the relatives of the cruciform stupas. The group has attracted more attention. In Yugo however clearer than in other cases the whole area, rendering the body of the stupa is divided into quadrangular fields, there are no oblique lines in the contours.
