Basho Rock Carvings and Inscription

Description: Along the Gilgit Skardu road at Basho one can see a big boulder bearing rock carvings and Tibetan inscriptions. Here were found two Tibetan style stupa carvings, an ibex and three-line inscriptions. The boulder measured about 6 by 12 m. The big stupa carving has a series of terraces, topped by solid dome with flags on either side. Now spoiled these beautiful and rare carvings and inscriptions with white washing and paints. Another side of the River Indus on the left bank on the western side of the Power Station, we found a boulder with beautiful and rare stupa carvings and few ibexes.
