Islamgarh Fort

Description: It is located deep in Cholistan near the Indian border. The fort itself is an impressive building of brick work with high and sloping walls strengthened by bastions. The present name of Islam garh was given to the fort in 1766 CE, after it was captured by Ikhtiar Khan Mundhani. Prior to that it was called Bhimwar. It is square in plan, with a series of bastions on the eastern and northern sides. The burnt bricks used in the construction of the fort are 19.05 x14x2.5 cm in size.
