Taitrinot Baoli

Description: The baoli is located 15 km south-east of Hajira, near Govt. Boy School, Taitrinot crossing point is at its east at 2 km distance. Site is approached by following Hajira-Taitrinot road. This baoli site is situated along the left side of the road, leading to Taitrinot crossing point. A stepped tank is located in the center of the large courtyard in a chamber with arches on three sides of the inner chamber. There are also guest rooms on either side of the main chamber. The facade of this complex is facing south-east. Limestone has been used with lime mortar inside and facing stones are carved. The entrances of all the rooms and main chamber are designed with pointed arches. There is a staircase on south-west corner leading to the courtyard from outside and railing is provided on all the three sides of the complex. There was an inscribed slab, detached from the main wall of the facade. The facade is decorated with floral and geometric motifs. There are remains of rough form tank, outside the railing of south-east wall, to facilitate the animals for drinking water. The monument is tentatively assigned to the Sikh Period.
