Sharda Megalith II

Description: The site is located on the left bank of Neelum River, at a distance of 10 km in the north east of Sharda Temple. The site can also be approached from Sharda tourist guest house. This is another evidence of human activities in the remote antiquity of Neelum Valley. The stones have been arranged in semicircular shape and appear to have been purposely carved or dressed. The grave or the burial place is constituted with 10 stones, lying in vertical position. There are other graves of later period, most probably of Islamic period along the Megaliths near the field terraces. The Megaliths have been cautiously dated to the Neolithic period somewhere between the 4th and 2nd millennium BCE.
