Description: In the center of the dismantled fortress at Multan, is an obelisk erected to the memory of Messrs Agnew and Anderson, who were murdered at the Eidgah in 1848 CE. In the western face of the pedestal is an inscribed tablet of white marble, which runs as follows: beneath this monument lie the Remains of Petrick Alexander Vana Agnew and of the Bengal Civil Services and William Anderson.
