Kos Minars

Description: In 1609, Emperor Jahangir ordered a small minaret like monuments to be built at every Kos along the G.T Road. The Kos was an ancient measurement of the territory distance which varied from time to time. During the period of Emperor Jahangir, the conventional Kos, was measured between 3.75 to 4 km. These two Kos minarets, built in Rawalpindi are not in good state of preservation.
