Joia Mound

Description: This archaeological site covers an area of about 20,000 sq.m. It stands to a height ranging from 5m to 8m above the surrounding level. Presently, the site consists of a group of four mounds which were probably split apart due to seasonal floods. Pottery and two potters` kilns have been noticed on the southwestern part of the site. Terracotta animal figurine and dabber along with the pottery have also been reported. The site probably belongs to Early Islamic period.
