Mound at Shadiphali

Type: Archaeological Site - Settlement
Province: Sindh
District: Umerkot
Period: Historic
Relative Chronology: 14th-15th Century CE
Description: This site in the form of mound was once the abode of king Daloora. There is no mention of this king in the history books, but it can reasonably be believed that he may either be a Soomra who ruled here from 1355 to 1440 CE, or then he may be from a Sodha Rajput clan who subsequently captured this area from 1530 CE onward. The site is littered with potshards. Modern graves have encroached upon the ancient site. Ruins of a mosque of burnt bricks are also witnessed on the western side of the mound. It is associated with Soomras of Sindh.
