Jhukar Mound

Description: This site was visited in 1928 by late Mr. N.G. Majumdar who also investigated two mounds. The preliminary investigation yielded pottery and other objects belonging to several cultures. In the lower remains are characteristics of the Harappan Period up to the late Jhukar period. A third culture was noticed was that of the Indo-Sassanians. Majumdar also excavated hoard of 259 coins of the Kushan king Vasudeva and his successors.
