Medanak Tunnel I

Description: A British period first tunnel of Jamrud Railway Station, built in 1923, measuring about 139 m in length and 10 m high. It is made of bricks through corbelling technique. It carried following inscription, `Medanak Tunnel-I, 1923, Contractor Mir Ghulam, Length 456ft`. There are further 18 tunnels like this in the area, 5 in Kafir Tangi Village, 4 in Peeryanu Kali village, 1 in Shagai Lala Chena village, 4 in Maskot Kali Village, 4 in Katta Kushta Ghar Obba and in Warsak area are found.
