Shingardar Stupa

Description: An archaeological site, is located on the Mingora-Barikit road on the left side while coming from Mingora. The stupa is depicted as having a cylindrical shape, decorated with superimposed rows of arches. The stupa is raised over a square plinth. The stupa has five stories, the lowest storey is quadrangle in shape and badly deteriorated. The second and third storeys from the base are circular in plan, while the fourth and fifth storeys are part of the dome and circular in plan. The upper drum and dome measures 12m high and the base is 27m in dia. The remains of Buddhist settlements are still visible on eastern and southern side, about 15 m from the base of the stupa, under the modern houses.
