Type: Monument - Building
Province: Sindh
District: Thatta
Period: Historic
Relative Chronology: 1206 - 1526 CE
Description: It is located inside the Makli Hills necropolis of Thatta, on the northern edge on the west of the ancient Jamia Masjid of Shaikh Hammad Jamali. There are several fallen buildings west of the Old Mosque at Makli. The fallen materials are mostly lying in situ and it is possible to reconstruct the buildings with these materials to a very large extent. One such highly ornate monument has still preserved its carved door jambs, pillars, curtain walls and inscribed lintels. Its ground plan is of the same type as the earlier madrassah. Its highly ornate character suggests that it must have been built by a royal munificence.
