Description: Nish at Mahal located near Jhangwali Road and not very far from SE College Road and Farid Gate Road (University Road) in Bahawalpur City inside the Bahawalgarh Palaces Complex, Bahawalpur Cantonment area in Tehsil Bahawalpur. There are three other palaces in the complex known as Farrukh Mahal, Nishat Mahal and Gulzar Mahal which was constructed by Nawab Muhammad Bahawal Khan-V. There is also a royal Sadiq Mosque inside this huge complex. The construction work on Nishat Mahal was initiated by Nawab M. Bahawal Khan -V as a royal residence in 1905 and completed along with the other palaces in compound in 1911. Nishat Mahal - located next to Darbar Mahal and much smaller in size. This palace is influenced by European design stands on high platform that extends outward on all 4 sides. There are paintings and furniture from the time of the Nawab, and the gardens around the palace are well maintained. The lamp posts and other landscape within the complex and particularly in close vicinity of Nishat Mahal are worth-seeing. The complex is only accessible through special permission from the military authorities.
