Hazrat Mian Sher Muhammad was one of the famous Saints of Punjab who got a reputation in Naqshbandiyyah Series (Silsala). He was born as a saint. The forefathers of Hazrat Mian Sher Muhammad migrated from Kabul to Punjab and lived in Kasur, from where they migrated to Hujra Shah Makeem and then Sharaqpur. The fathers name of Hazrat Mian Sher Muhammad was Mian Aziz Aladdin. His ethnicity was Arian. His family`s professional business was cultivation. Hazrat Mian Sher Muhammad was born in Sharaqpur in 1865 CE (1282 H). He had very keen interest for building mosques and always considered this as preaching duty. Six mosques were built up by him, and he worked as labor in construction of those mosques. He constructed one mosque along with roadside of locality (Mohallah) Nabi Poora and also built one well and chamber. Second mosque he constructed in graveyard Dohran Wala (also called graveyard Mian Sahib). This graveyard is located at south west of Sharaqpur besides your Tomb. Here also he constructed one well, chamber for Imam and a shower with well, and also appointed one Darwish to look after this mosque and he served well to mosques and peoples came for prayer. Third mosque he constructed in Locality Duhdul Poora (Now called Sher-e-Rabbani). Now this mosque is named as Shere-e-Rabbani Mosque. Forth mosque he constructed in Kotla Sharif. It was very vast mosque and had three rooms in its compound. When this mosque was constructed, peoples said that this mosque is built without any use, nobody came here for offering prayers, and everybody went in other mosques of Kotla. But he was used to said, well if it is constructed, it will be used for some work, if nothing else, we can tie and feed our buffalos here. But this was his strange spiritual thinking that now all mosques of Kotla are isolated and this mosque is on bloom and crowded. Fifth mosque he constructed on his well, so that tenants will not come to town and will not waste time. Sixth mosque he constructed in middle of Sharaqpur. This mosque was already there, but due to his existence and blessings, had no space for more peoples. So he made this more vast, strong and excellent. He spent 25000 rupees on expansion of this mosque. He died at the age of 65 on 20th August-1928 (3-Rabi-ul-Awal -1347 H). According to his instructions he was buried in Dohran Wala graveyard (also called graveyard Mian Sahib).
