Ghafoor Shah-Jo-Daro

Description: Ghafoor Shah-Jo-Daro is located about 11.3 km northwest of Shahdadkot city. It can be accessed from Shahdadkot via Shahdadkot- Shaho Jamali village road turning southwest along the water channel to the site. There is a shrine of Ghafoor Shah located on the north-eastern edge of the mound and a graveyard on the eastern part of the mound. There are traces of burnt brick debris visible on the site perhaps there are structures beneath. The surface of the site had concentration of cultural material on the site. The cultural repertoire from the surface included plain red ware pottery thin & thick in texture with open and short rims, thin potshards with grooved lines on the outer surface, plain gray ware shards, one body part with a handle and a small hole, broken long necked water vessel, broken handle and knobs, terracotta wheel, shell pieces and a broken iron object. The site has been disturbed by the locals who have illegally dug in various parts of the mound.
