This beautiful museum was established by the Vice Chancelor of the Hazare University Dr. Ihsan Ali in 2008 and was inaugurated by the Mr. Nisar Ali Khan, Federal Minister. This museum exhibits the archaeological history of the provenience and mainly the history of the Abbottabad and the Haripur District. In 2008 the archaeological survey of the Abbottabad and Haripur was started by the Dr. Ihsan Ali and the surface collections are represented at the museum which include the bones, potsherds. Iron and metal objects. The material recovered from the excavation of the pre-Buddhist grave site at the Chitral, which was the joint mission of the Hazara university, Abdul Wali Khan university, British counsel, and Leicester university in 2008 is also represented at the main gallery which represent the glory of the ancient history of this area. The traditional dresses, wooden objects and other such items are presented in the galleries to show the traditions and culture of the area and also the historical perspective. The Buddha’s paintings and the artifacts from the Gandharan sites also hold the main significance and place here, many of the artifacts are displayed.
