Swat Museum is located in a Mingora and Saidu Road in Swat district, and province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. It includes artifacts from sixty archaeological sites of Swat dating from 300 BC to the 18th century AD. The Archaeological Museum of Swat established at Saidu Sharif in 1950 by the efforts of former Wali of the then state of Swat, late Major General Mian Abdul Haque Jehanzeb in order to house his private collection of antiquities. The building was designed by the Italian architect Vittonio Cardi. Later, it was taken over by the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Pakistan and formally inaugurated by the late field Marshall Mohammed Ayub Khan, the then President of Pakistan on the 10th November, 1963.It consists of three Galleries, but in 1967 it was extended and six more galleries were added to it. The Galleries were renovated and reorganized with the help of a cultural grant in aid received from the government of Japan in 1992.The re-organized galleries were inaugurated by Major General Nasirullah Khan Babar, Minister of Interior Government of Pakistan on 10th February 1994.
