The ruins of this Buddhist stupa are situated in a village Hanzel about 16 km west of Gilgit on the main Gilgit -Ghizir road. The stupa has already been robbed and survives only in the shape of a mound of about 8 m in height. Parts of the facing walls of the socle are preserved at its foot. The visible structures show that this stupa was of considerably bigger size showing completely different proportions than the monuments in Jutial and Thol. Due to its size and sturdy form it probably should be connected with the famous Nawpura stupas (4th-5th century CE, about 8 m in height).
