Anarkali, a charming girl having a love affair with Prince Salim (Jahangir) who was executed for her amorous folly in 1599CE. Emperor Jahangir constructed this tomb in the memory of his beloved. The building is octagonal in plan with alternate sides measuring 13.4 and 9.2 m, there is a domed octagonal tower, with a huge dome on high cylindrical neck in the center. The marble cenotaph is elaborately carved with delicate floral and tendril designs, though the lines of carvings are not sharp. The calligraphy is in Nastalik boldly carved but it lacks in uniformity of pen.
