Mosque and Baoli (Jandiala Sher Khan)

Description

The baoli and the mosque are located on the north-western fringe of the village, constructed by Sher Khan during the time of Akbar. The baoli is square in plan with 9 bays in three aisles. Adjacent to the baoli, on the south-eastern side the remains of a mosque are found, probably built along with the baoli. The three-bay sanctuary has a vaulted passage on either side of the central bay. The same feature also exists in Badshahi Mosque, Lahore. The mosque appears to be three domed structures as the dome of the southern bay still exists. The mosque is in ruined condition.
