In this compound amongst other important buildings lie the Kalhora Period tomb of Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro the founder of Hyderabad and represent the typical Kalhora architecture. The tomb was constructed in 1772 by his son Sarfaraz Khan Kalhoro. The tomb stands on a square platform surrounded by massive fortress-like wall, The exterior was originally decorated with glazed tiles in great variety of geometric and floral patterns but now survive in very bad state of preservation. The interior has been painted elaborately with bands of coloured glazed tiles running around the walls. Further designs include medallions, panels and bands. A stair leads to the terraced roof.
