A productive meeting and Record of Discussion were held between the Secretary, National Heritage & Culture Division, Government of Pakistan, and the Director General, Heritage Policy Bureau, Korea Heritage Service, Korea, to discuss institutional cooperation, heritage policies, conservation strategies, professional capacity building, and future collaborative initiatives in the field of cultural heritage. Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in this important area. A significant milestone of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Korea Heritage Agency and the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Pakistan, under the project titled “Capacity Strengthening for the Management of National Cultural Assets in Pakistan (2026–2030).” The MoU provides the foundation for the establishment of the National Cultural Heritage Institute of Pakistan (NCHIP) in Islamabad. The project is envisioned as a key platform for strengthening Pakistan’s institutional capacity and conservation infrastructure, promoting national self-reliance, and ensuring the sustainable management and effective utilization of the country’s cultural heritage.
