The Department of Archaeology & Museums, National Heritage & Culture Division, Government of Pakistan, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi, to strengthen heritage education, promote cultural awareness, and encourage public engagement through academic and cultural initiatives. The MoU aims to foster collaboration between the two institutions in raising awareness among students about Pakistan’s rich cultural, historical, and archaeological heritage. Under the agreement, students will be provided with academic and practical exposure in the fields of museology, conservation, archaeology, and heritage management. A significant feature of the partnership is the establishment of an educational museum within the premises of Government Graduate College Asghar Mall. The museum will display artifacts, archival materials, historical photographs, documents, and exhibits reflecting the institution’s rich historical, architectural, and academic legacy. The initiative is expected to serve as a valuable educational resource for students, researchers, and visitors. The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of engaging young people in the preservation and promotion of Pakistan’s cultural heritage. Following the signing ceremony, Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi visited the Department of Archaeology & Museums, where he was briefed on the department’s ongoing projects, heritage conservation efforts, museum development initiatives, and future plans for the preservation and promotion of Pakistan’s archaeological and cultural assets.
