A delegation led by Chairman Ausaf Group, Raja Mehtab Khan, along with local notables, called on Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Mr Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, to discuss matters pertaining to the preservation, development, and promotion of national heritage. During the meeting, the delegation appreciated the government’s ongoing initiatives for the restoration, beautification, and conservation of the historic Pharwala Fort. They emphasized the significance of protecting Pakistan’s cultural and historical assets to ensure their preservation for future generations. Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi promised that special funds would be allocated for Pharwala Fort, as well as for the restoration and beautification of the historic mausoleum of Sultan Muqarrab Khan, in the upcoming federal budget to further enhance conservation and development efforts. He reaffirmed the government’s firm commitment to safeguarding historical landmarks and promoting heritage-based development across the country. The Minister further stated that concrete measures would be undertaken to develop Pharwala Fort as a major tourist destination. He noted that these initiatives would not only help preserve the fort’s historical importance but would also promote cultural heritage, boost local tourism, and contribute to economic activity in the surrounding region.
